What a registered trade union does for you

You choose your union

The Employment Relations Act 2000 gives you the freedom to choose whether to join a union, and which one. Your employer can't pressure you either way.

Collective bargaining

As a registered union, NPANZ can negotiate collective agreements for its members. You can appoint us as your bargaining agent.

Support and representation at work

Our industrial advocates help members with employment problems such as disputes, pay issues and bullying, and can speak for you in meetings with your employer.

A union run by its members

Registered unions are independent of employers and run under democratic rules. NPANZ members elect their branch executive, and branch delegates elect the national executive.
