Vicky Swanson
Vicky Swanson is a Registered Nurse with 29 years of nursing experience, with the majority of her career spent in surgical nursing across a number of Auckland hospitals.
Vicky was one of the first nurses in New Zealand to join the Nurses' Professional Association of New Zealand (NPANZ), reflecting her early commitment to supporting nurses to have a stronger collective voice and to helping shape the future of nursing in New Zealand.
Throughout her nursing career, Vicky has developed extensive clinical experience and a strong understanding of the realities faced by nurses working at the frontline of healthcare. She has expanded her practice into integrative nursing and autoimmune health, reflecting her interest in a more holistic approach to health and wellbeing.
Alongside her nursing career, Vicky brings 30 years of small-business experience, providing her with valuable skills in leadership, communication, business management and building positive working environments.
Vicky is passionate about creating safer, happier and more supportive workplaces for nurses across New Zealand. She believes nurses should feel respected, valued and empowered to have a meaningful voice in their profession and the care they provide.
As President of NPANZ, Vicky is committed to ensuring nurses get more from their professional association — not only strong representation and advocacy, but also meaningful opportunities for learning, professional development and connection. She brings together her clinical, business and integrative health experience with a genuine commitment to improving the working lives, wellbeing and professional opportunities of nurses throughout Aotearoa New Zealand.
Louise McGoldrick
Louise is a Registered Nurse with over a decade of nursing experience across Australia and New Zealand. She began her nursing career in Melbourne in 2014 at St Vincent's Hospital, gaining experience across a range of hospital wards before progressing to the Emergency Department.
In 2017, Louise studied a pathway in Biomedical Science at Monash University, where she developed a strong understanding of the essential role nutrients play in cellular function and overall health.
This foundation led Louise towards Integrative Medicine, and in 2019 she began working alongside renowned Integrative Medicine practitioner Dr Tim Ewer in Nelson. Today, she brings her nursing expertise and passion for holistic health to her own business, The Nutrient Nurse.
Louise is fully certified in injectable nutrients and regularly attends conferences and professional education to stay up to date with evolving, internationally recognised approaches to Integrative Medicine. She is passionate about providing safe, evidence-informed and personalised nutrient therapy to support her clients' health and wellbeing.
Danielle Craig
As the Secretary of NPANZ, Danielle is involved in various aspects of NZ Union's operations. She has long been passionate about improving the quality of nursing and healthcare in New Zealand, and firmly believes this is only possible when our nurses are properly supported.
Danielle knows the immense experience, skill and care that nurses across New Zealand bring to the hospital system every day. She believes nurses are the backbone of our health system and should have a strong voice in decisions that affect their patients, their profession and their workplaces.
Danielle places great importance on supporting nurses and strengthening local communities, ensuring nurses have the resources, conditions and support they need to provide the best possible care for their patients.
She is looking forward to working closely with nurses across New Zealand in her capacity as the NPANZ Secretary and will continue to advocate for a hospital system that supports nurses, values their expertise and puts quality patient care at the centre.
